…And the rocks of the earth must rend; and because of the groanings of the earth, many of the kings of the isles of the sea shall be wrought upon by the Spirit of God, to exclaim: The God of Nature suffers!
1 Nephi 19:12
Jesus is the Great Creator who created the earth and all life on it. He is the Original Source of life on earth. He is connected to all creation. At the time of Christ’s crucifixion, darkness covered the land of Jerusalem and there was an earthquake. In the Americas, the Book of Mormon details that the darkness and devastation were much more severe.
The Spirit of God confirms that Jesus is The God of Nature. To respect, reverence, and feel gratitude for nature is to connect with the love of Jesus who created our planet out of love for us. Earth is a living island in the vastness of the great deep ocean of space. Out of the primordial chaos Jesus separated out and then recombined the elements to create newness. The creation account mentions binaries that were separated which then provided the basis for new recombinations. The day was separated from the night and then recombined to create an infinite number of sunrises and sunsets. The land was separated from the waters and then recombined to create beaches, marshes, islands, lakes, rivers, eroded canyons, and all sorts of diverse combinations that move and change over time. Jesus still bears the title of Creator and the God of Nature. He still creates! Every sunset is unique. Every person is unique. Jesus also enables a new spiritual life and transforms our hearts so that we become new spiritual creatures. Because He is the Great Creator and has power over death, we will all be resurrected or recreated into new physical life one day. His work was not finished with the creation account in Genesis. Jesus is still separating out humanity from the primordial spiritual chaos. He is still forming humanity. When He returns He will usher in a new peace on earth where we will live in harmony with each other and with all of nature. He is the God of Nature. The earth and all of humanity are still in process of being formed. If you see chaos in the world, it is because we are still being formed. Trust in Him. More is yet to come.

This is beautifully written and caused me to think of things in nature in a different way. I love it!
