And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the Rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the Rock upon which ye are built, which is a Sure Foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.
If we secure our house of faith on Jesus, we build on a sure foundation that won’t erode away. If we hold onto Him, his love is stronger than mighty storms. We may be beaten and drenched but we will be secure in his arms. His love for us is stronger than all the world. His love for us endures past hopelessness, sickness, tragedy, injustice, persecution, sin, death, and the powers of hell. He has already descended below all things and has overcome all things for us because of his infinite and enduring love for us. He is there to walk with us and be with us through every trial. He is the truest friend.
