… Arise from the dust, my sons, and be men, and be determined in [Jesus] One Mind and in One Heart, United in all things, that ye may not come down into captivity;

2 Nephi 1:21

Lehi directed his sons to be determined in Jesus. He directed them to be one in Christ. As we unite in Jesus, we adopt his mind and his way of thinking. We adopt his heart and his way of feeling. As children of Jesus, we become united in all things. We see with new eyes that we are all children of God which causes us to see others more clearly and even love those who have wronged us. We let go of our pride and our sins. When we are determined in Jesus, we become free from spiritual captivity.

Jesus is the great uniter. His will is aligned and united with his Heavenly Parents. He invites us to be united with him. The children of Christ are to become like Jesus who is One Mind, One Heart, and United in all things.
