For the names of the righteous shall be written in the Book of Life, and unto them will I grant an inheritance at my right hand. And now, my brethren, what have ye to say against this? I say unto you, if ye speak against it, it matters not, for the word of God must be fulfilled.

Jesus is called the “Word” and the “Life of the World.” He is the “Book of Life.” The names of Jesus’ followers are written in the fleshy tables of his heart, hands, and feet which were pierced. Our names are marked on his body and we are bound to him by covenant. Our names are written on Jesus who is the “Word of Life.” By faith and covenant, Jesus is also written in our own hearts. See 2 Corinthians 3:3.
