Awake, my sons; put on the armor of righteousness. Shake off the chains with which ye are bound, and come forth out of obscurity and arise from the dust.

2 Nephi 1:23

Jesus is our awakening to a new life. He is our armor of righteousness. He liberates us from the slavery of sin that keeps us down. He created our first parents from the dust and called them to rise from the dust. He will call us to rise from the dust again when he returns. Jesus is the Word of God that commands us to Awake! He is the great verb and command “to Awake.” He is the verb, “to become”, “to be”, “to live”, and “to love”, that empowers us if we hearken to his call. He calls us to open the eyes of our hearts and minds until our whole being is awake and shines with his divine light. (see 3 Nephi 13:22) He is our divine hopes of eternal life. He is our resurrection to eternal glories.
